Puberty

Yesterday on the 1st of December. 

We learnt that sometimes during  the night when a male is asleep the body system of a male likes to test if everything in a male's body is okay so the body then go and let the sperm out of a male's body that can be known as a wet dream. It is 100% normal and okay for this to happen every male will eventually go through something like this. When this happens it is the rise in levels of the hormone testosterone.

Book Club

 For the past week we have been doing book club, you may not have the biggest clue of what book club is but technically it is when you have a group of 4 people and everyday you read however much you get told to reading and each day you get a job and those jobs are publicist, ilustrator, translator and editor. The translator finds all the figurative language that can be hyper boles, onomatopoeia, similes, metaphores and some other things. The publicists job is to get everyones favourite paragraphs. The ilustrators job is to draw an illusration of your groups favourite part. Then the last job is the editors the editors job is to find the definition of any intresting words. i"m in a group with Travis, Mailii, Kaiden and I and each day we have to read 18 pages.

Doing this book club has really helped me to improve my reading, comprehension, figurative language and my understanding of reading. This has been making me read a lot more often and making me more confident.

I hope we do this in the future because it makes it so much easier to understand my reading.

Polygons

This past week we have been learning polygon and their properties. 

Polygons are shapes that have straight lines and are 2D flat shapes, for example a triangle is a polygon because they have straight lines that connect to make a shape. A polygon is a close figure if all the sides don't connect then it is not a polygon. A polygon has no intersecting lines. The word polygon means many sides.

                                            "First Game Of Netball"

 On friday a couple weeks ago we had our first game of netball we vs South New Brighton and played at the avonside courts. We won the game by 11 points the scores were 14-25. The team we vs were quite tall so we had to work together a lot. 

I played WD and WA those are position are what i'm best at. I had fun well I was playing and i'm really excited to play again and hopefully we win again. 

Next time we need to work on moving to the gap more and marking our player a little bit more.

My G.L.P Chart

         G:  Today something good that happened to me and that I found enjoyable was silent                             reading because it's really improving on my reading level and that was my goal. I also                         have been enjoying  doing my reading contract because i'm finding it a lot easier to cope                     with.
          
     L:  Today I  learnt  that kowhai trees are semi ever greens  that means that they lose their                           leaves right before flowering.

         P: Tomorrow I promise to get 3 reading activity's done .during reading time.

"Maths"

Today we worked on different types of shapes the name for them and finding out the perimeter for them. We also did a sheet of things that had division and multiples on it. The easiest thing we do in maths is probably working out the perimeter. At the moment i'm not having any difficulty with anything  and finding it quite easy to do.            

                                                          

"My Experience Of Adrenalin Forest"...

                   

                          "Adrenaline Forest"

I woke up on a Wednesday excited as can be ready for my time at Adrenaline Forest. 

When I got to school my bestfriend Mailli  was already there. But then the ball rang and Naquita wasn't there and me and Mailli were really sad because we thought she wasn't coming. Then a few minutes past and Nogo came in to check everyone was here so then me and Mailli were praying that Naquita would come to school and just as Nogo was leaving Naquita had finally arrived at school and Mailli and I were so excited to see her.

First break finished and it was time to gather the year 7 & 8's and do a roll to make sure everyone was here. After the roll it was time to leave. 

We arrived our destination and the Adrenaline Forest was right next to Spencer Park. I was super excited to go on the course but I had to be forbearing because the instructor was explaining how to use the harness and I did not want to be stuck 5 metres above the ground. Before going on to level 1 we had to do a mini test. At first I struggled with my clippers but on level one I got the hang of it. I wasn't scared at all which I was quite shocked because i'm not a big fan of heights. I had completed level 1 and I thought it was quite easy so I moved straight to level 3 and on that level I had been just a bit more scared cause it was a bit higher. Then I had completed that level so I moved on to level 5b but there was a slight difficulty because the person I was behind was to slow so I did not have enough time to do the course and it sucked.

After that I had some food and then I took off my gear and we all got into the van ready to leave the park.

We arrived back at school and it was 3:00pm which meant it was home time so I got my sister and we got picked up by mum and went home... and that was my adventure at Adrenalin Forest.

In my holiday I had a sleepover with my best friends Jade,Naquita and Mailli. We went to the pools,ate junk food,played cards,played hide’n’seek,had races with the cars,went on the tramp,stayed up late,watch movies and had rainbow waffles.

An Eel's Lifecycle.

Today we learnt stages of an eel's lifecycle there habbitat,pollution and new facts about them. 
Here is a picture that I made of a eel's lifecycle.



















Eels start as baby eggs and then  they well start to turn into larva that will grow into glass eels that will then transform into elver's at this stage of their life they start not liking the salt water and become to a star of liking fresh warter. There next stage is to grow into an adult that will travel to Tonga to lay there eggs it takes normaly a year to get there and on there way back they usualy don't make it back and that's there lifecycle.

On Monday we worked with Mark and learnt how to use shortcut keys to make it easy while creating an animation.  I made a slide show about color changing balls and the shortcut key I learnt weir ctrl+D ctrl+Z cntrl D and ctrl+ c and v.
